Ball Practice in Pairs

Practice ball skills in collaboration with others.
- 6+ years
- Group size: 2+
- Duration: 20 min
- Ball sport
- Partner exercise
- Gym / Sports hall
- Open space
- Ball
Divide the group into pairs and give each pair a ball. Define an area and distribute the pairs evenly so that the space is utilized well.
Then provide various challenges:
- Throw to each other so that both balls are in the air simultaneously.
- Throw one ball in the air while the other is bounced once on the ground.
- Bounce both balls once on the ground.
- Roll both balls on the ground.
- One person runs ahead without the ball and leads the way, while the other dribbles the ball behind.
- One person dribbles the ball and simultaneously tries to shield it, while their partner tries to touch the ball.
- One person forms a ring with their arms, while the other throws the ball up through the ring – from both sitting and standing positions.
- Crawl between each other's legs while one person dribbles the ball. (If someone is in a wheelchair: hold arms out so that the partner can dribble the ball under the arm.)
- Throw the ball to each other via the wall.
- Throw the ball to each other from behind and over the head.
- One person dribbles the ball in a figure eight around the other's legs.
- Try to transport the ball from one point to another without using hands and without the ball touching the ground (can also be done as a relay).
Remind participants to switch roles during the exercises.
Progression
By increasing the speed of the ball, the exercises become more challenging. You can also make the area smaller, making it tighter and increasing the risk of bumping into each other.
