Frisbee Relay

A fun activity that challenges eye-hand coordination
- 14+ years
- Group size: 6+
- Duration: 15 min
- Relay
- Mountains, forests and fields
- Gym / Sports hall
- Open space
- Mesh vests
Divide the group into teams of at least three participants per team. Each team has one frisbee, preferably with different colors or numbers to distinguish the teams.
One participant from each team stands approximately 20–25 meters away from the rest of the team, on a separate line. There should be good distance between the teams, and the distance is adjusted according to age and the available area. The person standing at the front of each team throws the frisbee to the teammate standing alone on the line.
The thrower can use as many throws as necessary, but the receiver is not allowed to move their feet; the frisbee must land directly in their hands where they stand. Once the teammate has caught the frisbee, he/she runs back to their team, gives the frisbee to the person now at the front, and moves to the back of the line. The thrower stays in the receiver's spot, and the next round begins.
Variation
The activity can be done on skis or skates to combine balance and coordination training.
Increase the distance between teams and receivers to make it more challenging.
Introduce specific throwing methods, for example:
- throw under one leg
- throw behind the back
- throw with the 'wrong' hand
If the teams are not too large, each participant gets many throws and runs, and the activity also provides good endurance training.
