This is a simple dance where you can optionally count to four or eight. Participants stand in rows, shoulder to shoulder, with a little distance between them.

Step Description

1) Place your right foot forward and back to the starting position (1–2), then your left foot forward and back (3–4).

Repeat this one more time (5–6–7–8).

2)Take two "taps" forward and two back with your right foot (1–2, 3–4).

Then move your right foot forward, out to the right side, back, and out to the right again (5–6–7–8).

3) Now follow with four beats on the foot, with a simultaneous twist:

  • Bring your right foot back and tap the shoe with your left hand.
  • Bring the foot back to the right side and tap the shoe with your right hand.
  • Bring your right foot forward towards your left hand and tap.
  • Bring the foot back to the right and tap with your right hand.

Each tap counts as one beat (1–2–3–4).

On the second tap, twist to the left, completing the twist during the third and fourth taps until you have turned approximately 90∘ in total. This requires balance, as everything is done standing on your left foot.

4) After the last tap on the right foot, place it down to the right.

Then bring your left foot after it, placing it down behind and slightly past your right foot on the right side (6).

The right foot is placed even further to the right, and the left foot is brought up behind; the right hand taps the shoe (7–8).

Then do the same the other way:

  • Place your left foot out to the left.
  • Bring your right foot behind your left foot (2).
  • Place your left foot even further to the left (3).
  • Tap your right shoe against your left hand behind your back (4).

Place your right foot in front of you and "drag" your left foot after it (5–6).

Repeat this one more time, slightly further forward (7–8).

Then take four steps in place while wiggling your hips (1–2–3–4).

Repeat the entire sequence throughout the song.

It's important that the song isn't too slow, but has a good drive in its rhythm. Make sure the rows are straight.

Progression (Learning)

All participants stand in one or two lines and imitate the leader, who stands a good distance in front with their back to the group.

  • First, practice each measure/sequence (1–4) separately.
  • Gradually combine the sequences.
  • Practice without turns until participants know the steps – then with turns.

Use music from the beginning, and if necessary, practice the most difficult sequences without music.
