Divide participants into groups of 4–6 people. Each group needs a wall, a ball, and a multiplication table overview.
One participant holds the multiplication table, stands near the wall, and kicks the ball against it while stating a math problem aloud, for example: «7×3». The rest of the group stands in a line. The person at the front of the line must answer while kicking the ball back towards the wall.
If the participant answers correctly, they go to the back of the line. If the participant answers incorrectly, the person who asked the problem shouts «wrong», and the participant must step aside and do 10 jumping jacks before returning to the back of the line. Agree in advance which multiplication table you will practice.
Variation
- The one holding the multiplication table says the answer first, and the one answering must say which math problem fits, for example: «21» – «7×3».
- The «penalty exercise» can be varied, for example with sit-ups, push-ups, or a short run.
