Two by two, they line up behind a line. One person stands in front of the line, with their back to the others, and calls out: «Last pair out – Kari and Knut – run out!». The last pair then runs out, one to each side, and tries to meet at the front next to the person who called.
The caller must try to catch one of them before they manage to meet.
- If he/she manages to catch someone, the caller then stands at the front of the line with the one who was caught; they now form a new pair.
- The one who was not caught takes over the role and calls out next time.
- If the caller does not manage to catch anyone, they must call out again.
Each time a new pair comes to the front, the other pairs move one step back.
