Story

“Barnaby, the little rescue boat, has always been a bit scared to sail through Spooky Sound. An old, grumpy trawler named Captain Rusty told him scary stories about ships that crashed into the dangerous rocks there. But we are humans, so we don't need to be afraid of the rocks at all! Instead, we can practice jumping from one rock to another, and it doesn't matter if we bump into them. The floor between the mats is just like the ocean water. It doesn't matter if we step in the water either, because we are totally used to getting wet! Will you join the adventure and jump from rock to rock with me?”

Description

Place some mats on the floor with short distances between them initially, so that the children can manage the jump. The mats represent the dangerous rocks in Spooky Sound. Arrange them one after another in a long line, or form them into a big circle. The children should jump from rock to rock, while you gradually vary the distance between the mats to make it more challenging.

Variation

The rocks can also have different heights. For example, use chairs, benches, or boxes that the children can jump down from.
