Two or three participants (depending on the group size) start as 'it' until the teacher says 'switch'. When someone is tagged, the person or people who are 'it' decide on a movement or exercise that the 'victim' must perform, for example, hopping on one leg, doing jumping jacks, or standing like a statue.
The person who has been tagged must continue performing this movement until they are freed. Freedom occurs when another participant stands in front of them and performs the same exercise together with the tagged person, for example, 3 or 5 repetitions. Once the exercise is completed, both are free again and can continue playing.
The teacher can interrupt at any time and say 'switch', so that new participants become 'it'. The game provides a lot of movement, variation, and opportunities for children to suggest their own exercises, and it trains both physical endurance, coordination, and cooperation.
