Pair Tag

Pair Tag

A tag variation focusing on teamwork in pairs.

  • 3+ years
  • Group size: 8+
  • Duration: 15 min
  • Tag
  • Partner exercise
  • Gym / Sports hall
  • Open space

The group is divided into pairs, with two people holding hands. Each pair must constantly move together as a single unit. One or two pairs are 'it' (are chasing), and their task is to try to catch another pair.

When a pair is caught, you can choose one of the following variations (decide beforehand):

  • The caught pair becomes 'it' and are the new chasers.
  • Those who are 'it' connect with the pair they catch, forming a group of four that moves together. Gradually, more pairs can connect, and the chasing group grows larger and larger.

The game can be played with different movement styles: walking, running, jumping, hopping, crawling, etc. It's important that the pairs cooperate, hold hands firmly, adjust their pace to each other, and ensure they don't collide with others.

This game trains cooperation, coordination, balance, reaction time, and social interaction, while allowing children to move actively in a playful and fun way.
