- Duration: 20 min
- Ball sport
- Gym / Sports hall

- Boxes
Gather balls of different sizes and types in a box or similar container. The adult stands by the box and throws the balls out into the hall at a pace that allows the children to collect them again. The children run out, pick up one ball each, and run back to place it in the box. It is not allowed to throw or kick the ball on the way in. The box can be placed anywhere in the hall. The adult continues to throw out balls for as long as the activity is meant to last, but not so long that the children cannot manage to fill the box again.
Variations
- Use a movable basket and small softballs. The adult continuously moves the basket, so participants have to run different distances.
- Let the participants dribble the ball with their feet back to the box instead of carrying it.
- Use many small softballs spread around the hall, and time how long it takes to collect them all in the box. Repeat and try to beat your own time.
- The larger the area, the more activity and higher intensity.
The activity can also be done in water or on snow/ice.
