A variant of tag where all available equipment in the gym is used to create an obstacle course where players can move around on the apparatus without touching the floor. One participant is the 'hound,' the others are 'hares.' The hound must catch the hares, and those who are caught are temporarily out. The last one caught gets to be the dog in the next round.

To keep as many players active as possible, never more than three participants should be out at the same time. When the fourth player is caught, the first one caught re-enters the game. Give the dog a vest or other clear marking so everyone can easily see who to watch out for.

Variation

The game can be organized so that those who are caught can 'free' themselves by completing a task, for example, on a dedicated 'freedom mat' with rolling, push-ups, sit-ups, etc. In this variation, the adult must ensure to switch who is the dog along the way, so that more people get to try the role.
