Hospital Tag

One or more players are 'germs' and will try to tag as many as possible.

Before the game starts, designate a small area at one end of the gym, in a corner, or on a mat, to be the 'hospital'. This area must be clearly marked so that all children know where the hospital is.

One or more participants are 'germs' and are 'it'. They move around the hall and try to 'infect' as many as possible by tagging them. When someone is tagged by a germ, they are 'sick' and must lie down on their back on the floor to show they are infected.

  • To get well, the sick must be transported to the hospital. This happens when one or two other participants drag them along the floor to the designated hospital area. Here, it is important to ensure that everyone drags carefully and that no one is lifted heavily.
  • If one person alone drags the sick player to the hospital, this helper can themselves be tagged by a germ along the way and thus become infected. If two people work together to transport the sick player, they cannot be tagged by a germ while dragging. This makes it beneficial to cooperate and have two people help.

The germs aim to infect as many as possible before the teacher stops the game or changes who the germs are. The game provides a lot of movement and exerci
