This is a simple dance where you can optionally count to four or eight. Participants stand in rows, shoulder to shoulder, with some distance between them.

Step Description

  1. Stand with both feet together and turn your right foot out to the side twice (1–4).
  2. Place your right foot forward with the heel on the floor twice, then your right foot back with the toes on the floor twice (1–4).
  3. Place your right foot forward with the heel on the floor, bring it next to your left foot, place your right heel down diagonally forward, then bring your right foot back and tap the heel with your left hand (1–4).
  4. Place your right foot out to the side (diagonally forward), cross your left leg behind, place your right leg out to the side again and bring your left leg next to it (1–4).
  5. Place your left foot out to the side (diagonally forward), cross your right leg behind, place your left leg out to the side again and 'brace' on the floor with your right heel towards the left. Make a swing with your foot and turn approx. 90 ∘ (1–4).
  6. Place your right foot down, cross your left leg behind, place your right foot out to the side and 'brace' on the floor with your right heel. Make a swing with your foot to the right (1–4).
  7. Bring your left foot next to your right and turn 180∘ to the right in three beats, placing your feet together on the fourth beat (1–4).

Progression (Learning)

All participants stand in one or two lines and imitate the leader, who stands a good distance in front with their back to the group.

  • First practice each beat/sequence (1–4) separately.
  • Assemble the sequences gradually.
  • Practice without turns until participants know the sequences – then with turns.

Use music from the beginning, and rather practice the most difficult sequences without music if needed.
