Draw a large 3×3 grid on the ground using chalk. Create as many grids as there are teams/participants. Teams play against each other in pairs, one grid at a time.
The rules are the same as in standard ‘Three in a Row’, but the game is played as a relay/competition:
Mark a starting line at a suitable distance from the boards using cones or a line.
- Both teams start at the same time and run forward one by one to place a beanbag/vest (or other suitable item) on the board.
- First phase: Each team places their three beanbags/vests, one run per participant at a time.
- Once all three have been placed, the players in the next round must move them to form a row of three.
- The winning team is the first to form a row of three.
Be clear about the rules regarding taking turns and how the beanbags/vests should be placed on the squares.
