All participants have their own ball. Start with them facing you, preferably in a semicircle with plenty of space around them.
Then you can handle the ball in different ways, for example:
- Around the whole body
- Around one foot, then around the other
- In a figure-eight between the feet
- Hold the ball on an outstretched hand to the side. Let the ball roll down your arm, across your chest, and out onto the other hand
- Balance the ball on the back of your hand: sit down, hop, walk, or run with turns
- Sit on your bottom and roll the ball around your body, first with one hand at a time, then with your feet
- Sitting: squeeze the ball between your feet, lie down while guiding the ball with your feet behind your head
- Lie on your back with feet together, place the ball on top of your feet and roll it towards your body as far up towards your chin as you can, and back down to your feet – use your arms as little as possible, preferably not at all
As an adult, you can organize by having the participants 'monkey see, monkey do' after you. Demonstrate the exercises instead of explaining all the details, this leads to more activity and fewer breaks. When you want to give instructions, hold the ball still and ask the participants to do the same, so everyone pays attention.
Gradually increase the tempo. The faster the ball moves, the more challenging the exercises become.
