Bouncing a ball can be a challenge in getting accustomed to ball handling, but precisely because of this, it also provides a great sense of achievement when successful. 'Bounce Ball' is a team game where two teams play within their own half, separated by gymnastics benches. Everyone on the team must have touched the ball (bounced it) before it is sent to the opposite half. Before the ball is played over to the other team, it must be bounced once in its own half.
Variations
It might be useful to do some simple bouncing exercises before the game starts. For example:
- Two by two share a ball: one bounces, the other tries to catch the ball.
- Bounce Relay: Two or more teams. On signal, the first person bounces around a turning point and back, before the ball is handed to the next on the team.
- Limit the number of bounces per team before the ball must be sent over, as skills improve.
