Handicap dodgeball

A variation of dodgeball where players lose the ability to use certain body parts if they are tagged
- 6+ years
- Group size: 6+
- Duration: 20 min
- Open space
- Gym / Sports hall
- Ball
One of the players starts by throwing the ball on the ground and calling out the name of one of the others. That person must catch the ball as quickly as possible. Once they have the ball, they shout “Stop”. This means that everyone else must stand completely still. The person who caught the ball must now try to hit one of the others.
If you are caught, you must put your right arm behind your back (it must then not be used any more).
Now the others must try to catch the ball, and ‘Stop’ is shouted again when the ball is caught. A person can be caught five times:
- The first time, put your right arm behind your back.
- The second time, put your left arm behind your back.
- The third time, hop on one leg. (Alternatively, close one eye)
- The fourth time, crawl on your knees. (Alternatively, get an extra life if you can’t crawl on your knees)
- The fifth time, you’re out of the game.
