Medicine Ball Throw

The pair stands at opposite ends of a bench or balance beam. Once they find their balance, they throw a ball to each other without falling down. The goal is not to "sink" each other, but to cooperate to achieve as many successful throws and catches as possible.

For variation, you can:

  • use two balls and throw simultaneously
  • try to throw and catch two balls at once

Safety

  • ensure participants are well warmed up before the exercise
  • divide into pairs that are roughly similar in height and weight
  • use mats or other soft surfaces
  • clear the area around the bench

Variations

  • Let the pair play "P-I-G" or other simple throwing games while standing on the bench.
  • For beginners: start with a wide, low surface (e.g., a plank on the floor).
