Nature Trail

Practice orienteering and basic skills through outdoor life and exploration.
- 3-10 years
- Group size: 2+
- Duration: 30 min
- Nature playground
- Orienteering
- Mountains, forests and fields
Mark out a trail with ribbons. Place various objects that do not belong in nature, such as bottles, umbrellas, plastic bags, etc. The children should walk around the trail and look for these 'wrong' objects. They can either write them down, draw them, or try to remember them until they return to the finish line to report.
Variations
- Instead of creating a trail, you can define an area. Children can then run around within the area for a set period and find/remember as many things that don't belong there as possible. They report their findings when they reach the finish line, or when time runs out.
- Increase the difficulty by choosing more challenging terrain. Older children can use a simplified map.
