Pass Each Other

Pass Each Other

An exercise that challenges balance and creativity

  • 6+ years
  • Group size: 2+
  • Duration: 20 min
  • Alternative physical activities
  • Gym / Sports hall
  • Mountains, forests and fields
  • Open space
  • Gym Mat
  • Balance Bench

Participants stand at opposite ends of a bench or beam. Once they have found their balance, they should try to pass each other in the middle of the bench without falling off.

Ensure safety:

  • place mats or other soft padding on the floor
  • ensure the surrounding area is clear to prevent stumbling and impact injuries

Variations

Give the pairs tasks on how they should pass each other, for example, one must go over the other, around, under an arm, etc.

Let several participants be on the bench at the same time and pass each other in a line.

For beginners: start with a wider area for passing and a low height, for example, a wide plank or a line drawn in gravel.

As participants become more confident and gain better balance, you can gradually:

  • narrow the "beam" or marking
  • increase the height (but always with a safe surface underneath)

Adapt width, height, and difficulty level according to age and skill level.
