Station Bingo

Station Bingo

Practice various skills in physical activity/physical education, or use a playful approach to learning in other subjects.

  • 6+ years
  • Group size: 6+
  • Duration: 30 min
  • Alternative physical activities
  • Gym / Sports hall
  • Indoor

Plan a regular station training session for your desired purpose, for example, within various core subjects or to train fundamental physical education skills.

At each station, place a sheet with the description of the exercise/activity on one side and a number on the other (the number is turned face down). Before starting, all participants receive their own bingo card which they keep throughout the session. Participants choose which station they want to start at. Once they have chosen a station, they perform the exercise for the agreed working time. When the time is up, they turn over the sheet at the station and mark off the number on their bingo card.

For example, you can work 1–10 minutes per station, with approximately 30–60 seconds to move to a new, optional station. The goal of the session can be to:

  • get one full bingo line
  • get a full board
  • get the most full boards or most lines during the session (in which case you get a new bingo card when one board is full).

The bingo card should have squares and numbers that correspond to the number of stations.

Tip! Laminate the sheets so they can be used both indoors and outdoors, and last a long time. Once the setup is made, it's easy to reuse (especially if it requires little or no equipment).

Variations

  • The organizational form can be used for various types of training: warm-up, endurance, coordination, strength, etc.
  • The tasks can be linked to subjects such as English, Norwegian, mathematics, geography, etc.
  • Create bingo cards of different sizes (for example, 3×3, 4×4 or 5×5), depending on how long the activity is planned to last.

Adapt tasks and exercises to the target group. For kindergarten and younger students, it may be beneficial to work in pairs or small groups.
