Varied Ski Loop

Basic skiing skills are challenged, and the activity provides versatile fundamental training.
- 10+ years
- Group size: 1+
- Duration: 30 min
- Alternative physical activities
- Snow / ice
- Skis
Mark out a loop in the ski area/slope with three elements:
- Cross-country section (skating/classic)
- Uphill section (for example herringbone or double-poling)
- Downhill section (preferably a simple turning/slalom course)
Set up an easy slalom course in the slope. The children choose which technique they want to use in each part of the loop.
If the area is wide enough, many can be active at the same time. If not, divide into smaller groups and add other activities alongside. The area should not be too large – the loop should feel motivating and exciting. Adjust the length of the loop to the children’s age and skill level.
