Viking Game

A cooperative exercise that challenges full-body strength.
- 10+ years
- Group size: 8+
- Duration: 15 min
- Alternative physical activities
- Mountains, forests and fields
- Gym / Sports hall
- Snow / ice
- Open space
- Rope
Divide the group into two and split the area with a rope or similar marker. Each group then tries to pull opponents onto their side without crossing the line themselves. Participants should be encouraged to cooperate, and multiple players can team up to pull one person. When someone is pulled over or steps across the line, they switch teams and join the other side. This activity continues until everyone is on one side of the rope. The team that has participants remaining when the other side is empty wins.
Challenge participants to cooperate: If they work well together, you, as an adult, will have almost no chance, no matter how strong you are.
Variation
Instead of switching sides when 'caught,' players can be eliminated from the game entirely. This gradually reduces the number of participants, and the last one remaining wins.
